Cutting machine surface roughness concept
In the manufacturing process of mechanical parts, the knives left by the cutters or grinding wheels, the plastic cross-section when the chips are separated, and the vibration of the machine tool make the parts of the obtained parts always leave a slight subtle gap and peaks and valleys. The unevenness of the convex and concave surfaces can be seen by the naked eye on the roughened surface, and the surface can be observed with a magnifying glass or a microscope. The surface of the part has a small peak and valley level and a spacing condition. It is called surface roughness and is also called microscopic unevenness.
